Current Initiatives

Provide direct support for political candidates and political action committees with aligned values.

In becoming a member of AVP, veteran political candidates are assumed to share our values and will be advertised on our website as endorsed by AVP. Career civilian candidates may be considered for AVP endorsement by contacting us. Initial determination of endorsement is at the discretion of the Secretary of the board. Should a candidate be declined for endorsement, or a veteran member have endorsement revoked, the rationale for this decision will be provided to the candidate in question, and published on our website upon request.

Initial declination of civilian candidate endorsement will be considered final. Revocation of veteran endorsement may be appealed in writing to the Board via email. The Board will vote on reversal of any revocation of endorsement at the next meeting of the Board, at which time a super-majority of votes to overturn the revocation will reinstate endorsement status, and guarantee endorsement through completion of the ongoing election cycle.

All AVP donations to political candidates will be at the maximum allowable donation. An order of priority list will be developed that ranks ideologically aligned PACs followed by endorsed candidates prioritized by margin/competitiveness as evaluated by a polling firm with a proven track record of accurate polling (currently AVP’s preferred polling firm is Big Data Poll at bigdatapoll.com). In the absence of polling data, candidates will be ranked in accordance with the same criteria using qualitative analysis. This initiative will be the #1 funding priority of AVP, and donated funds will be allocated to PACs and endorsed candidates in each election cycle as they become available

Advocacy for legislation aligned with our core principles.

When we become aware of legislation that directly supports our core principles, we notify politicians of AVP’s endorsement of said legislation, and how this legislation promotes our core values. All correspondence related to this initiative will be published on our substack.

Holding Elected Officials Accountable

Politicians, no matter which branch of government, routinely make decisions that have a disproportionately significant effect on service members, veterans, and their families. AVP will provide candid analysis on the impact of the voting records of legislators, opinions of judges, and actions of executives on the veteran population on our substack.

Building Connection

At AVP, we believe our core principles and mission aligns with the best interests of all service members, veterans, and families. Any service member or veteran can become a member of AVP at no cost, however, our ability to qualify for tax exempt status requires that our membership is comprised of at least 75% veterans so we will need to establish a means of verifying veteran status prior to conferring official membership. Currently, anyone who shares our values, veteran or civilian, is welcome to join our mailing list to keep informed of our activities and develop a community. We welcome feedback and discussion to ensure that our message and initiatives resonate with the population we intend to represent on our publication America’s Veteran Party that we invite you to visit at avpc.substack.com and join the discussion!
